La Bonita

Justo A. Martí Photographic Collection, 1948-1985

La Bonita Spanish-American corner store photograph captures the neighborhood’s life. Inside the store, the girl purchased some products from the storeowner at 1PM. By the windows on the second floor atop the Wildroot Barber shop the young boy looked at Martí while the cat was grooming himself. Meanwhile, the glass windows allow us to browse some of the products for sale and at the same time showed what was across the street. (Retouched photograph for the Bodega exhibit.)
