Carlos Ortiz Papers, 1940s-2006
Tito Puente (1923-2000) was a musical pioneer who was one of the originators of Latin Jazz, and was known as the "Mambo King." The photograph was taken by Adál Maldonado as part of the Avant Garde Mambo Society Exhibit at Tweed Gallery in New York City.
