Interview with Juan Sanchez on Dec 21, 2015, Segment 12
CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-
Sanchez explains the painting “San Ernesto de la Iguera II”, which talks about the death of the Argentinian revolutionary Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara. The statement that he conveys through the painting is that even though the photograph that shows the corpse of Guevara was meant to discourage people from following his steps, it had a contradictory effect because the image of the corpse resembles the image of the crucified Christ.
