00:00:00 In this first interview, Rubal-Lopez begins by describing her early life and family background. 00:15:46 She shares the experiences of going to live in Puerto Rico. She explains the differences of living an urban life in New York City and a rural life in Puerto Rico. She also mentions the cultural differences in New York and Puerto Rico. 00:30:00 Rubal-Lopez reflects on going back to New York City from Puerto Rico and her experiences during that time. She also discusses her mother's illness. 00:45:00 She discusses her position on the idea of women with no education in a marriage. She also reflects on how media influences our society, as well as mentioning her memories from going to a Catholic school. 01:03:27 Rubal-Lopez shares her experiences of living in the projects, and the relationships of her neighbors. 01:19:00 She describes her parents' effect on her education and her upbringing. She states how grateful she was to have her parents.
