CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-
Ronald's mom worked for El Mundo which is now Telemundo and his father was a Merchant Marine. They lived in Jersey City until Ronald was 6 years old and his mother decided that the U.S was too cold and that she wanted to move back to Puerto Rico. His father never spoke Spanish and his mother never spoke English. His family was lower class. He went to UPR high school and was interested in going to college for Political Science. He was accepted to NYU and after 2 years he moved back to Puerto Rico where he taught. He came back to the U.S to study at Princeton and afterwards returned to Puerto Rico to help set up various educational programs.
