Lillian López Papers, 1928-2005

Lillian López continues her interview with Pura Belpré, describing her educational experiences in Puerto Rico and studying French in high school. She graduated from Central High School in Santurce in 1919 and enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras. She initially planned to be a schoolteacher in NYC, but chose to be a librarian instead. She describes her experiences in publishing, having her first book of folk tales published by Viking Press, and how she met her husband. Sound cuts out at 42 minutes into the interview.
