Soprano Thelma Ithier-Sterling details her early life in Puerto Rico, emphasizing the crucial role that music played in her life. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Ithier-Sterling discusses the daily life in the neighborhoods that she lived in, the close relationship with her mother and grandmother and the early exposure that she had to music especially through members of her family. The artist also describes her experiences as a student at the Escuela Libre de Musica, at the University of Puerto Rico and at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.
