Victor Vasquez-Hernandez talks about his early life in the United States and the events that led him to become a politician. He served in the military until he resigned in 1973 in order to attend Hostos Community College. There he was involved in student riots which motivated his subsequent interest in politics. Vazquez-Hernandez also touches on issues of identity, social mobilization, his work with the Hispanic community, and his intake about Puerto Rico’s political status.
